Zen House is a peaceful compound on the Kona Coast arranged around a central courtyard. Stairs lead from the entry to the Great Room and through to views of the ocean. Bedrooms and gathering spaces surround a grass courtyard that enhances natural ventilation and light. Materials reflect the volcanic site, and rhythmically spaced openings connect indoors and out in an unbroken flow.
